Souper Bowl of Caring began at Spring Valley Presbyterian Church, Columbia, SC on Super Bowl Sunday 1990, with a prayer at a youth group, “Lord, even as we enjoy the Super Bowl football game, help us be mindful of those without a bowl of soup to eat.”  Between now and February 8, you can bring canned goods and place them in the bins in the narthex.  You can also give money for Souper Bowl of Caring.  These donations will go to First Presbyterian Church Soup Kitchen.  We invite/encourage you to bring chili for lunch following worship on February 8, and you can “vote with your dollars” on which was best.
