The season of Lent begins with Ash Wednesday. These forty days invite us to introspection, confession, repentance, and amendment of life. It begins with that solemn word, “Remember that you are dust and to dust you shall return.” Between disease, war, and other tragedies, there is no shortage of reminders that life is uncertain and brief. What do we make of this fact? Getting right with God and with neighbor would be a good response. The Scriptures and prayers and the imposition of ashes and Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper help mark a fitting and meaningful start to our Lenten journey. We hope to live stream the evening service.
