All Saints observance has been reclaimed by many Protestants because in the New Testament the word “saint” means every Christian.  We also have the deepening awareness that however intimately God may speak to each of us personally, our faith in Christ is also due to the witness of other people.  Parents, grandparents, pastors, teachers, musicians, godly friends, maybe even strangers, have had their roles in our journey of faith, helping us come to know the love of God in Christ.   On Sunday, November 3, we gather around Word and Sacrament, thanking God for saints.
