The following e-mail is from our youngest daughter who lives in Nashville.
Please pray for all these individuals and families.

Jessica, our granddaughter who lived with us this past year, called me on
Saturday night and told me what had happened. She was really shook up, as
were all of the children who were there, having seen someone die before
their eyes. They later found that the young man had a pulmonary embolism.

The band students are having a tough time because it was a teen who died.
As you all know, teens think they are indestructible and seeing that they
are not is really a jolt to them.

"This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."

Subject: Prayer Request

Hi everybody.

I have a prayer request for 2 entire band families and a special request for
5 band students.

We, Hillwood High School Band, were at a band competition on Saturday in
Lebanon, TN. A band, Richard High School from Linville, TN., that was
parked next to our Equipment truck lost a student right after they
performed. He, Lance, was carried off the field and was carried to the
loading area where he starting feeling a little better. He then got up and
walked about 20 feet and collapsed. They gave him CPR for over 15 minutes.
When the ambulance arrived they shocked him twice got a slow rhythm and put
him on the ambulance and took him away. He died at the hospital. Sheila,
a nurse and my co-president of the Boosters and I, were over there the
entire time to help if needed. We had 5 students, 2 of which were mine,
Jessica and Rusty, witness the whole thing. Needless to say they are
devastated and traumatized. They witnessed something that none of us should
ever have to witness especially a teenager. After they calmed down, 2 of
the kids, Rusty was one of them, walked over to the other band and shook
hands and hugged their band parents and some of their students and told them
that we were praying for all of them and got the boy’s name.

So, please pray for their band for the loss of a family member. Our band for
being their and supporting our members that were there and witnessed it all
and for the parents to be able to help our children.

My special Prayer is for Rusty, Jessica, Alisha, Ben and Garrett. These are
the 5 students that was there. They are all having a pretty rough time.

On a good note, we did come in 2nd overall in our division. However, the
kids did not celebrate as you can imagine, they truly were not in the frame
of mind to.

Thank you everybody and please pass this on.

Carla
