This e-mail is a plea for help. If you've ever wanted to do something to
make a difference and didn't think you had anything to offer this is your
chance. Since this e-mail was first sent Chip has gotten even worse. Keep
him and his family in your prayers and please go get tested. Thanks! Carolyn
 



Dear Friends and Family:

Attached is the information on Chip Parkhurst.  He is 25 and desperate for a
bone marrow match!  He is in Baptist Hospital in Memphis in critical
condition.   He is a University of Memphis graduate, and his family lives in
Collierville, Tennessee.

Please, Please forward this to as many people you can.  If you are with a
company, please forward it to all the employees.  If you are in the
military, please send it out to your buddies. If you are a church member,
please present this Wednesday night at the service.  Your effort may save
Chip's life.

So far, no viable match has been found.

CHIP COULD BE YOUR SON,  YOUR HUSBAND, YOUR FRIEND, OR THE FATHER OF YOUR
CHILDREN.  
There is a chance you could be the match, or someone you know.

The test is easy, it's a swab in the mouth.

The test locally will be Saturday,  July 15th 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the
Germantown Methodist Church.

IF YOU ARE OUT OF TOWN, YOU CAN EMAIL MARY LESUEUR AT MLESUEUR at NMDP.ORG TO
FIND OUT WHERE YOU CAN BE TESTED.  YOU'LL THEN BE PUT INTO THE DATABASE TO
SEE IF YOU MATCH FOR CHIP PARKHURST.

There may be a charge for the testing, but if this were your child, wouldn't
it be worth it?  

The first one hundred (100) people that show up at the church on the 15th
are tested free.  There will be some charge after that depending on how many
donations are collected to offset the cost.  If no other funding is
received, the cost will be $52.00 per test.

If you are a match, the procedure according to Mary Lesueur is simple.  It's
a short hospital stay with costs covered; anesthesia, and a needle in the
hip to withdraw the marrow.
The marrow regenerates.
